目前主要从事多类型干旱的长期时空演变规律、耦合关系及驱动机制，作物需耗水模拟及灌区水资源优化配置等方面的研究工作；主持国家自然科学基金项目，国家重点研发计划子课题、四川省区域创新合作项目等纵横项目10余项；授权发明专利3项，实用新型专利8项，获四川省科技进步二等奖1项、四川大学教学成果奖3项，高等学校水利类专业教学成果奖一等奖1项；以第一和通讯作者发表学术论文30余篇（其中SCI15篇，实验类核心期刊10篇）; 指导本科生获全国大学生水利创新设计大赛、全国大学生农业水利工程及相关专业创新设计大赛等国家级创新竞赛奖项10余项。
