主要从事岩石力学机理、土力学与地基基础、工程边坡稳定性等方面的教学与研究工作。参与多项国家自然科学基金项目，获教育部科学技术进步奖一项、石油和化工自动化行业科技发明奖二等奖一项、石油和化工自动化行业科技进步奖一等奖一项，国家发明专利5项、发表学术论文10余篇。
