主持国家重点研发计划课题、国家自然科学基金长江水科学研究联合基金项目、四川省青年科技创新研究团队项目和重大工程科技项目等数十项科研课题。在ENG GEOL、Landslides等上发表SCI论文数十篇，相关论文获《工程地质学报》2019年优秀论文、《水利学报》创刊60周年最具人气论文、China Rock 2018大会优秀论文等。

获教育部科技进步一等奖（两项，排名均第2）、四川省科技进步二等奖（排名第1）、中国大坝工程学会科学技术特等奖、中国水力发电科学技术一等奖等科技奖励10余项。相关成果主要应用于重大水电工程高陡边坡和库区滑坡以及突发型滑坡（堰塞湖）灾害的致灾机理、风险评估、应急处置与综合治理等方面。
